Graduated in Journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas, MA in Communication Sciences and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering both from Universidade de Sao Paulo. He is a professor in the Department of Social Communication and in the Graduate Program on Media and Technology, in the School of Architecture, Arts and Communication , at Sao Paulo State University (UNESP), and also a visiting professor in the Heller School for Social Policy and Management, at Brandeis University, Mass., United States, were he teaches a graduate course on Digital Media for Community Development. He was a reporter and editor for Brazilian newspapers and magazines and worked in different universities and communications companies, since 1999; editorial coordinator of the Multimedia Agency for Education and Scientific Communication at the Institute of Advanced Studies at the Universidade de Sao Paulo, in Sao Carlos; internet manager and director of Tribuna Impressa newspaper and digital media consultant for the Brazilian broadcast company EPTV. He teaches and researches on scientific journalism, editorial planning, and media management.
